British Ambassador to Washington Leaves after Heavy Criticism of Trump
Nigel Kim Darroch, the British ambassador to Washington, is leaving. Darroch unleashed the anger of the US president by saying in several memos that Trump exudes “uncertainty” and the US government is “incapable” and “dysfunctional.”
The memos are full of unsalted criticism leaked through a British newspaper.
The newspaper The Mail on Sunday reported that the top diplomat expects Trumps presidency to end in disgrace. “We do not expect the White House to become more normal under Trump,” Darrock ventured.
Based on Trump’s visit to the UK, the ambassador concluded that the president is “insecure” and “incompetent.” The White House would be the scene of mutual struggle and chaos.
The heavy criticism of Trump and his government put Darroch on Tirade several times. The ambassador has not served the United Kingdom. I can tell you that, “the president said Sunday.
We are not a big fan of that man. I can say things about him, but I’m not going to worry about it, “Trump said. The fact that he was apprehensive about what Darrock called out became clear the next day.
Angry, Trump again pulled leather against Darroch yesterday. “I don’t know the ambassador, but I was told that he is a pompous fool,” Trump spit on his gall through Twitter.
He called the ambassador a “stupid guy,” with which the US government cannot work. According to Trump, Darroch should be made clear that the US “only gets bigger, better and stronger”.
It would be better if Darrock would point out to his country and Prime Minister Theresa May the failed Brexit negotiations instead of worrying about Trump’s statements after the state visit. I showed May how to close the deal, but she went her way to get it done. A disaster! “, Said the outraged president.
The argument with the president has made Darroch’s position as ambassador hopeless. “I believe that under the current circumstances it is best to allow the government to appoint a new ambassador,” he said in response to his departure.
Darroch would leave anyway at the end of the year. It is not yet clear who has leaked his memos – intended for those in high positions within the British government.
