Biden Pledges Another $6 Billion in Aid to Ukraine

On Monday, the United States announced an additional $5.9 billion in military and financial aid for Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden is using his final weeks as president to increase aid to Kyiv before President-elect Donald Trump takes power.

The aid consists of $2.5 billion in military assistance and $3.4 billion in additional budget support. “Under my leadership, the United States will continue to work to strengthen Ukraine’s position in this war for the remainder of my term,” Biden said.

Ukraine is buying military equipment from the US defence industry or partners instead of from US stockpiles. It could take months or years before the weapons are available on the battlefield.
