British Prime Minister Theresa May has asked the European Union to postpone the Brexit until 30 June. She made that appeal in a letter to EU President Donald Tusk. There is a hesitant acknowledgement to this request in Brussels.
Time is running out for May, because her country will have to leave the EU in 9 days (March 29). The British cannot unilaterally prolong that deadline.
The other 27 EU member states must consistently agree.
In the letter to Tusk, May writes that she wants to impersonate her deal to the lower house again. She truly wanted to do that this week, but President John Bercow put a stop to that.
As a result, according to the British Prime Minister, it is not possible to hold a third vote before the European leaders meet this week.
