The British government warns against travel to Sri Lanka because it is very likely that terrorists will carry out more attacks. On Easter Monday, Sunni extremists committed suicide attacks on churches and hotels on the island.

Predominantly Buddhist Sri Lanka has a Christian minority of about 7.5 percent of the population who are mainly Roman Catholic.
