British politician Nigel Farage hopes that the impending Brexit agreement will mark the “beginning of the end” for the European Union.
Farage is a strong supporter of a hard Brexit and an opponent of the EU.
Speaking to Talk Radio, Farage said he is not satisfied with the Brexit deal. “I suspect that with this agreement, we are still too close to EU rules in the coming years.”
Still, he thinks the situation is better than five years ago, before Brexit. “But it is not good enough to become a dynamic economic centre like Singapore.”
On Thursday morning it was announced that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen would seal the appointment by phone.
According to insiders, there were still hiccups in the cable at the last minute. According to the BBC, the two leaders are quickly talking to each other.
