Man Arrested After Stabbing Near British Museum

London police have been able to arrest the suspected perpetrator of a stabbing near the British Museum, the Metropolitan Police reported. The victim was taken to hospital with stab wounds to the arm.

According to the police, it is not a terrorist act, and there was “no particular risk to the public”. Nevertheless, the museum was evacuated to be on the safe side.

The violence took place on Tuesday at the intersection between Great Russell Street and Museum Street, near the main entrance to the famous museum. The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

“The museum is temporarily closed due to an incident in the area,” said the museum’s spokesperson. “We will update visitors as soon as we can reopen.”
