Italians and Spaniards Urged to Leave Russia

Italians and Spaniards are urgently advised to leave Russia as soon as possible because of the war with Ukraine and the sanctions against Moscow.

According to the foreign ministry in Rome, all Italians not living permanently in Russia should leave the country “without delay”. This also applies to students, tourists and business people. The government in Madrid gives similar advice.

Russian airlines are no longer welcome in the EU. However, the Italian ministry said that flights are possible via Istanbul and cities in the Middle East. Also, people in Saint Petersburg can take the bus to Estonia and travel further from there.

Last Wednesday, a day before the Russian invasion, the Ukrainian government already called on all compatriots in Russia to leave that country immediately.
