Irish airline Ryanair has also agreed to a 20 percent cut in wages over four years to maintain jobs. The company previously agreed with its British pilots.
Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary previously threatened to cut 3,500 jobs if no pay cut was accepted. All Irish Ryanair pilots eventually accepted the salary cut.
In addition to a salary reduction, the agreement also stipulates that pilots will have more flexible working hours and improved annual leave.
A deal was also signed with the unions for Irish and British cabin crew. They will hand in 10 percent in salary over four years.
Cabin crew members have yet to comment on this. Ryanair, like its peers, is struggling due to the collapse of passenger transport due to the corona crisis.
