For Theresa May it is a Short Delay or the End of Her Premiership. Theresa May and the European Union are going to put pressure on the Lower House together.

After the British prime minister had requested a postponement of a maximum of three months in writing, Europe announced that this “by extension” will only have a chance if its agreement is still adopted next week.

EU boss Donald Tusk, however, kept the door open for a long delay to avoid a “no deal” next Friday, but that escape route will mark the end of May’s premiership.

The chance that the Lower House rejects its deal for the third time is high, given the anger against May.

With the choice for a short postponement of the Brexit, during a cabinet meeting, which according to a minister felt like the last days of Rome, May had chosen the side of the Brexit-minded ministers.
